InstaDaleel collects as little personal data as a working directory allows. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It is written to align with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL).
What we collect
We collect three kinds of data — and nothing more:
- your email address, used only to send the magic sign-in link and operate your account;
- your saved favorites, so the businesses you bookmark are there when you come back;
- business listing data — names, Instagram handles, categories, and locations — compiled from publicly available Instagram profiles and from user submissions.
Cookies
We use a small set of strictly functional cookies:
- NEXT_LOCALE — remembers your language (English or Arabic);
- theme — remembers your light or dark mode choice;
- Supabase authentication cookies — keep you signed in securely.
There are no advertising cookies, no analytics trackers that profile you, and no cross-site tracking of any kind.
How we use your data
We use your data solely to operate the directory: signing you in, remembering your preferences and favorites, reviewing submissions and ownership claims, and keeping the service secure. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing.
Where your data lives
Account data, favorites, and listings are hosted on Supabase, our database and authentication provider. Supabase infrastructure may process data outside the UAE; we rely on its contractual and technical safeguards to protect your data wherever it is stored.
Your rights
Under the PDPL you may ask us at any time to:
- access a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete your account and personal data;
- withdraw consent to processing that relies on it.

Business owners
Listing information is compiled from public Instagram profiles. If a listing describes you or your business and you would like it corrected or removed, we will honor that — the removal page below is the quickest route. You can also claim the listing to manage it yourself.
Retention
We keep account data for as long as your account is active and delete it when you ask us to close it. Favorites are deleted with the account. Listing data remains in the directory while the business is listed, or until its owner requests removal.
Children
InstaDaleel is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Updates to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and flag significant changes on the site before they take effect.
